Future Product

Privacy notice.

What we collect when you subscribe to Future Product, why, and how to control it.

This notice covers the Future Product website and its weekly email issue, operated by [Legal entity name, to be confirmed]. It is written to GDPR, UK GDPR, and PECR standards for readers in the EU and UK, and to CAN-SPAM standards for readers in the US.

What we collect

When you subscribe, we store your email address, a referral code unique to you, the referral code of whoever referred you if any, and the time you signed up. When you subscribe, we also record the time you gave consent to receive the newsletter. We separately keep aggregate view and like counters for pages on this site; these are not linked to your email address or any other identifier.

Lawful basis and purpose

We collect and use your email address on the basis of your consent, given by explicitly agreeing at signup. We use it for exactly one purpose: sending the weekly Future Product issue. We do not use it for anything else, and we do not sell or rent it.

Retention

We keep your subscriber record for as long as you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we retain a minimal record (your email address and the fact and date of unsubscribing) only long enough to honor that choice and avoid re-contacting you, and delete the rest.

Third parties

We use a third-party email delivery provider to send the newsletter on our behalf. That provider processes your email address only to deliver our messages and under its own data processing terms. With your consent, we also use Google Analytics; see Cookies and analytics below. We do not share your data with anyone else.

Cookies and analytics

This site stores a light/dark theme preference and a short-lived, anonymous flag to avoid double-counting your page views, both in your browser’s local storage. Neither identifies you.

With your consent, we also use Google Analytics to understand aggregate, anonymous site usage. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and is loaded only if you accept the cookie banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, it is never loaded and no analytics cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using . Google processes this data as our analytics provider, including a transfer to the United States under its Data Privacy Framework certification. We do not use any of this for advertising.

Your rights

You can ask us, at any time, to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or export it. You can withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time using the link in every issue we send, or by emailing us. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of anything we did before you withdrew it.
